The thing I love about my kitchen - aside from the fact that it's Olympic-sized, thereby beating the "tiny apartment kitchen stereotype" so heh heh - is that it has a pretty clear view of the Western skyline. Not that there's much out there except a former-hospital-turned-condos and the NJ Turnpike ramp leading to the Holland Tunnel. But it makes for some pretty awesome sunset viewing, and even better than that is thunderstorm viewing. Since most storms travel West to East, I'm always one of the first of my friends to know when something is coming, be it by dark clouds approaching (daytime) or seeing distant lightning strikes (night).
Anyway, we got one of the first storms of the year this evening, and I came home - just in time to close the windows - for these views:
Also, it's nice when this happens when I'm home and, you know, not sitting in the upperdeck at Yankee Stadium. (Give it time. That will happen soon enough this season.)
